Western New England Named IWLCA Academic Honor Squad
Five Golden Bears receive Academic Honor Roll accolades
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (July 25, 2019) – The Western New England University women's lacrosse team has been recognized for its success in the classroom during the 2018-19 academic year with Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA)/Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad recognition.
Western New England is among 312 collegiate women's lacrosse programs across NCAA Division I, II and III, and the NAIA to qualify for this honor by posting a 3.0 team GPA for the year.
Additionally, five Golden Bears received individual accolades from the IWLCA, as seniors Kristen Breen (Ellington, Conn.) and Janell Lewis (Plymouth Meeting, Pa.), and juniors Katie Luposello (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.), Kaitlyn Hutter (Stamford, Conn.) and Ariella Ruggiero (Valhalla, N.Y.) were named to the IWLCA/Zag Sports Division III Academic Honor Roll for earning a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.
