Women’s Soccer Falls to Gordon, 3-0

WENHAM, Mass. (October 12, 2019) – The Western New England University women's soccer team surrendered three second half goals in an eventual 3-0, CCC setback at Gordon College on Saturday afternoon.

Top Performers
Gordon senior Lexi Potter (South Glens Falls, N.Y.) led the way for the hosts with two goals. Senior Devin Lacroix (Candia, N.H.) also tallied a goal for the Fighting Scots.

Game Review
Gordon opened the scoring just under five minutes into the second half through a goal by Potter, assisted by Lacroix.

Gordon extended their lead to 2-0 after Potter scored her second of the match by an assist from freshman Calla Ashley (Lancaster, Pa.).

Gordon scored their final tally of the match with just over ten minutes left in the game when Lacroix added an unassisted goal.

• Gordon held an 18-9 advantage in shots.
• Sophomore goalkeeper Shannon Murphy (Halifax, Mass.) had a season-high 8 saves during the match.
