BIDDEFORD, Maine (October 19, 2019) – The Western New England University women's soccer team conceded a pair of first half goals in an eventual 3-0 defeat to the University of New England on Saturday afternoon at Barbara J. Hazard Field.
Top Performers
UNE's offense was powered by three different goal scorers, as senior Jessie Maywalt (Wall, N.J.), junior Delaney Mullen (Manchester, Conn.), and senior Katie Beaudoin (Coventry, R.I.) each scored for the Nor'easters.
Game Review
Maywalt opened the scoring for UNE in the 14th minute with assists from senior Carline Wilson (Tiverton, R.I.) and sophomore Alyssa Boilard (Wilbraham, Mass.).
Mullen extended the lead for the Nor'easters in the 32nd minute after scoring a header off a free kick from sophomore Caroline Meuse (Hampton, N.H.) to make it 2-0.
UNE made it 3-0 in the 60th minute when Beaudoin made a move to get around Western New England senior goalkeeper Alex Lemekha (Stamford, Conn.) and buried a shot into the back of the net.
