Women's Tennis Wins First Match of 2022 over Curry
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (September 17, 2022) – The Western New England women's tennis team had an exciting close match against CCC opponent the Curry College Colonels where they won in double 3-1 and tied in singles 3-3, for the Golden Bears to win 5-4.

How it Happened:
The Golden Bears got out to a 2-1 start in doubles play. The first doubles team was seniors Arriana Hasiuk and Aliza McLeish who defeated Curry's Sophia Wiernusz and Serena Wilson 8-1. The third doubles team with Sophomore's Gianna Arace and Dani Martinez-Duran also defeated Samantha Ferrara and Alicha Hut 8-1. The second team was a battle. Curry won 8-7 with a 7-4 tiebreaker.
In singles action Aliza McLeish won 6-3, 7-5 in the first spot. In spot two Arriana Hasiuk had to fight out a win, going 6-3, 6-7 (7-4 tiebreaker), and 7-6 (7-5 tie breaker). Dani Martinez-Duran earned the last singles match in spot three. She had an impressive 6-0, 6-4 finish. After three wins in singles, the Golden Bears concluded the match 5-4.
