Women's Tennis Season Ends after Quarterfinal lost at Salve
NEWPORT, R.I. (October 18, 2022) – The Western New England women's tennis team faced the Salve Regina University Seahawks today on the road for the CCC quarterfinals where they fell to the Seahawks 5-0 which brings an end to their 2022 season.
Records:
- Western New England: 3-6, 3-4 CCC
- Salve Regina: 6-5, 4-3 CCC
How it Happened: In Doubles the Golden Bears team Arriana Hasiuk and Gianna Arace fell to the Seahawks Sailor Nordstrom and Casey Farrell after two close rounds of play. The other Golden Bears doubles team to compete was Aliza McLeish and Sydney Shepard who lost 8-2 to Salve's Alexa Stevens and Elena Murdock. The third finals match was a forfeit.
In singles play WNE had one player compete, Gabrielle Tirkot who faced the Seahawks Elena Murdock. This also resulted in a lost for the Golden Bears 6-1, 6-0, plus another forfeit in singles concluded the match for the Golden Bears who lost 5-0.
Up Next: This was the final match of the 2022 season for the Golden Bears. They finished the season 3-6.
