HILTON HEAD, S.C. (March 14, 2023) – The Western New England women's tennis team came up just short on Tuesday night under the lights of Chaplin Tennis Courts, falling 6-3 to the Roadrunners of Ramapo College.

How it Happened:

Western New England's Arriana Hasiuk and Alize McLeish came away with an 8-2 victory in the first doubles position to get WNE a quick 1-0 lead, however, the Roadrunners would storm back and grab the next two doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead heading into the singles round.

Ramapo would come away with four wins in the top for positions before Sydney Shepard would pull out a 6-0, 7-6 (7-5) win for WNE in the fifth singles spot. Gabrielle Tirkot would win a thriller for the blue and gold, taking down Ramapo's Tahlia Crescenzo 6-4, 4-6 10-7 to secure the victory for the Golden Bears.

Ramapo would collect the 6-3 win, dropping the Golden Bears just short of their first victory of the spring.
