Women’s Tennis Wraps Up Spring Season with 6-0 Loss Against AIC

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 24, 2023) – The Western New England women's tennis team fell in their final match of the season on Monday afternoon, dropping a 6-0 contest to the Yellow Jackets of American International College.

How it Happened:

Just two double sections were played on the afternoon as Arriana Hasiuk and Aliza McLeish were dropped 8-2 in their final match as Golden Bears. Gianna Arace and Gabrielle Tirkot would fall 8-1 in doubles action as AIC would take the early 2-0 victory.

The teams would play four singles matches as AIC would collect all four wins. Hasiuk, McLeish, and Arace would go down 6-0, 6-2, 6-0, 6-1, and 6-0, 6-0 respectively, while Sydney Shepard would fight to a 6-2, 6-2 defeat as AIC would take home the 6-0 victory.

This is the final match of the season for the Golden Bears.
