Baseball Splits at Curry

MILTON, Mass. (April 24, 2021) – The Western New England University baseball team split their Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) doubleheader at Curry on Saturday afternoon.

Game 1: Western New England 7, Curry 2 (7 innings)
Sophomore Zach Snow had two hits including a home run. Senior Mack Palmer had two hits including a triple. Senior Matt Vigliotti pitched a complete game with five strikeouts.

Ryan Goonan had two hits for the Colonels while Joan Peralta hit a double.

After going 2-1 after the first inning, the Golden Bears scored six straight runs to go up 7-2. Western New England scored two runs in the second, two runs in the fourth, and Snow's home run in the fifth inning.

Game 2: Curry 16, Western New England 15
The Golden Bears combined for 19 hits, including five from junior Ben Harrison, including one home run. Sophomore Sean Jamieson had three hits. Senior Sebastian Grignano and sophomore Jake Romano each had three RBI.

Julian Jaume and Peralta each had three hits. Jason Leonard hit a home for the Colonels.

Western New England scored runs in six different innings; the first, the third, the fourth, the fifth, the sixth, and the ninth. There were four different lead changes in the game.
