Western New England to Host Toys For Tots Campaign During Saturday’s Football Game
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (November 9, 2017) – The Western New England University football team will be holding a Toys for Tots campaign during Saturday's regular season finale against Nichols College at 1 p.m.
Fans are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys that will be distributed to less fortunate children in the community during Christmas season.
Toys for Tots is program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. The program was founded in 1947 by reservist Major Bill Hendricks.
Marine reservists will be on hand Saturday collecting toys at the Golden Bear Stadium gate.
