SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (December 1, 2017) – Western New England University head football coach Keith Emery was presented with the Community Spotlight Award by Revitalize Community Development Corporation (Revitalize CDC) at the organization's 25th anniversary celebration on Tuesday evening at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Emery was recognized for his team's commitment to community service over the last decade. The Western New England Football program has been involved with Revitalize CDC since 2006, volunteering several times each year with projects that include cleaning up and renovating residences in the Springfield area for families in need. This past August, the team provided yard cleanup and debris removal at the home of Springfield resident Sophia Jeffery along with another city resident.

Emery, who has also served on Revitalize CDC's Board of Directors for the past three years, completed his 13th season at the helm of the Western New England football team this fall. He led the Golden Bears to an 8-3 record (5-0 CCC Football) and the program's third consecutive (fourth overall) conference championship. His overall record stands at 86-49 (.637), including 37-7 (.841) over the past four seasons.
