Krumpholz, DeLima & Jackson Earn All-CCC Accolades

CCC Release

Western New England set to open CCC Tournament on Wednesday at UNE

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (October 31, 2017) –
Three members of the Western New England University field hockey team were recognized when the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) announced its major award winners and All-CCC teams on Tuesday afternoon.

Senior defender Samantha Krumpholz (Florence, Mass.) was named to the All-CCC first team, while senior forward Brittany DeLima (Jackson, N.J.) and senior midfielder Allison Jackson (Mahopac, N.Y.) earned second team honors.

Krumpholz caps her career with her second straight All-Conference selection after being named to the second team as a junior last fall. The senior was again one of the top defenders in the CCC this season, starting 16 of the 17 games that she appeared in and helping to anchor a defensive unit that allowed 2.26 goals per game.

DeLima earns All-CCC second team recognition for the third consecutive season after leading the Golden Bears with 34 points (5th in CCC) on 14 goals and six assists. The senior, who surpassed the 100-point mark for her career this fall, recorded at least one point in 11 of 18 games. She tallied a season-high seven points (three goals, one assist) in a 4-0 win at Nichols on September 19, and is currently riding a four-game goal streak.

Rounding out Western New England's All-CCC selections is Jackson, who also garners second team honors for the third straight season. Jackson has started all 18 games for the Golden Bears this fall, and her 20 points (six goals, eight assists) are good for third on the team (T-13th in CCC).

Western New England (9-9, 6-6 CCC), which earned the fourth seed in the CCC Tournament, will be on the road in the semifinals at top-seeded University of New England on Wednesday night at 6 p.m.
