Western New England Finishes 34th at UMass Dartmouth Invitational
Senior Ed Kaczenski again paces Golden Bears, finishing 183rd in 30:09
DARTMOUTH, Mass. (September 16, 2017) – The Western New England University men's cross country team placed 34th overall at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday morning.
The Golden Bears posted a score of 969 en route to 34th place in the 40-team field. NCAA Division I member UMass Lowell took the team title (82), while Brandeis (85), Salisbury (132), Connecticut College (155) and Adelphi (161) rounded out the top five.
Top Performers
• Senior Edwin Kaczenski (Northfield, Mass.) paced Western New England, finishing 183rd in the 315-runner field with a time of 30:09 on the eight-kilometer course.
• Senior Adrian Barber (Castleton, N.Y.) was the second Golden Bear to cross the finish line, doing so in 31:02, good for 209th overall.
•.Freshman Joe Africano (Alexandria, Va.) placed 228th in 32:11.
