Golden Bears Finish Eighth at Western New England Invitational

Adrian Barber leads Golden Bears with 31st place finish

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (October 14, 2017) –
The Western New England University men's cross country team ran to an eighth place finish at the annual Western New England Invitational on campus Saturday.  

The Golden Bears posted a team score of 193, good for eighth in the 14-team field. UMass Dartmouth won the team title with a score of 61, while Westfield State (73) and the University of New Haven (109) rounded out the top three.

Top Performers
• Senior Adrian Barber (Castleton, N.Y.) was Western New England's top finisher, as he completed the eight-kilometer course in 29:37, good for 31st overall in the field of 106.
• Senior Edwin Kaczenski (Northfield, Mass.) wasn't far behind Barber, as he placed 33rd and clocked in at 29:39.
• Freshman Jacob Eberli (Ludlow, Mass.) finished 41st overall with a time of 30:28.

Western New England will be back in action next weekend at the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship, hosted by the University of New England at Rotary Park in Biddeford, Maine.
