How it Happened:

Scoring happened early and often for Western New England in the thumping on the Bison from Vendetti Field on Wednesday afternoon. 34 seconds into the contest, the Golden Bears would grab their first goal of the game when Reilly Miller was able to find the back of the net, giving Western New England a 1-0 lead, a lead WNE held onto for the entire game. The game was tied for just 34 second's total. Kylie Buchanan would net goal number two, just 25 seconds after the Miller tally to give WNE a 2-0 lead. Western New England would pour in the goals in the first 15 minutes of play as Samantha Vitka, Liz Mazza, Ally Ferraro, Madisyn Crotta, and Hannah Jarvis all collected goals in the quarter for WNE. WNE's 7th goal of the contest came from Mazza, who eclipsed the 100-point mark in her career. The Golden Bears took 16 shots in the first quarter while Nichols College came away with just three. Faith Graveline made three saves in the first quarter for WNE.

After the 11 goals that were scored in the first quarter, the second quarter was the exact opposite as just two goals were found in the second 15 minutes of play. Mia Celentano would score the only Western New England goal with 9:23 remaining to give WNE a big 12-0 lead. Nichols would get their first mark of the half with just 1:43 remaining as Hadley Houghton would score for the Bison, taking an 11-goal deficit into halftime. Nichols College would come around and turn the pace in the second quarter, picking up 11 shots to WNE's four. Graveline made six added saves in the quarter, picking up nine total saves in her 30 minutes of action.

The Golden Bears would pick their offense back up in the third quarter, netting four of the five goals in the quarter, though not before Nichols would open the quarter with a free-position goal just 1:03 into it, sending the Bison to a ten-goal deficit. Celentano, Miller, and Emmy Burns would pick up goals for the Golden Bears in the third quarter, giving the Golden Bears a 16-2 lead. Riley Franzo made two saves in the quarter for Western New England.

The fourth quarter would belong to the Golden Bears, who scored all five markers in the contest to take the win. Vitka, Buchanan, Crotta, Celentano, and Mariella Biceglia would net goals in the quarter, the final goals of the game to give Western New England a big 21-2 win over the Bison of Nichols College. Emily Lake came away with two saves on the two shots she faced in the third quarter while WNE came away with seven shots towards goal, totaling 34 for the game.
