Swim Falls Short to Westfield State at First Home Swim Meet of the Season

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (November 6, 2021) – The Western New England women's swimming team falls just short to the Westfield State Owls at home 140 to 108, making the Golden Bears 1-1 so far this season.

The Golden Bears had multiple swimmers with top three finishes against Westfield State. Some standout Golden Bears were Andie Nadeau, Caitlin Hall, and Alexa Adams. Andie Nadeau had two first place finishes. She finished first in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 2:07.66, joined by teammates Emily Sarno, Alexa Adams and Caitlin Hall, and the 500-yard freestyle in 6:03.29.

Caitlin Hall took second place for the Golden Bears in the 50-yard butterfly in 30.64, and she also finished third in the 50-yard freestyle (44.01). Alexa Adams had a great finish to place third in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:29.60.

Sydney Boussy and Renee Lussier also had a couple of top three finishes to add to the Golden Bears total score. Boussy came in second in the 50-yard backstroke and third in the 100-yard freestyle. Lussier came in second in the 100-yard freestyle and third in the 1000-yard freestyle. Sadly, it was not enough for the Golden Bears to come out of the meet today with a win.
