Women's Swimming Dominates Albertus Magnus

New Haven, Conn. (January 22, 2022) – The Western New England Women's Swimming team dominated Albertus Magnus Falcons on the road, taking first in six events scoring 121 points, Albertus Magnus with 75.

How it Happened: 

The Golden Bears' relay team of Sydney Boussy, Caitlin Hall, Alexa Adams, and Emily Sarno took first in the first event of the 200-yard Medley relay with a time of 2:15.94. 

Megan Morrissey placed second for WNE in the 1000-yard freestyle in 13:30.95 for the second event of the day. 

In the 200-yard freestyle, Western New England's Sarno and Adams placed first and second, Sarno with a time of 2:24.00 and Adams 2:27.88.

WNE took the top three finishes in the 50-yard freestyle. Hall in first with a time of 28.17, Reneé Lussier in second in 29.03, and Amanda Pillard in third in 31.30.

Rebecca Friedman placed second in the 100-yard 1M event with a time of 1:25.43, and Adams with another second place in the 50-yard butterfly in 32.48.

The 100-yard freestyle, the Golden Bears also had a top three finish. Hall with another first place in 1:02.57, Morrissey with an additional second in 1:04.87, and Pillard again n third in 1:14.72.

The Golden Bears took top two in the 50-yard backstroke. Boussy with another first finish in a time of 33.39, and Sarno adding to her accolades, came in second in 34.16.

500-yard freestyle, Western New England's Morgan Heidel placed second in 7:28.15. 

Western New England Finished the last event of the day with another relay team placing first, Lussier, Morrissey, Pillard, and Katarina Dasilva in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 2:01.76.
