WNEC wins pair of GNAC matches

NASHUA, N.H. - The Western New England College women's volleyball team ended its regular season on a positive note with a pair of 3-0 victories over Albertus Magnus and host Daniel Webster Saturday in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.

The Golden Bears had little trouble with Albertus winning 30-6, 20-8, and 30-24. Juniors Amy Lorinovich (Hampstead, NH) and Teddy Woeppel (Cooperstown, NY), and sophomore Ashley O'Keefe (South Dennis, MA) each had eight kills. Sophomore Becky Cardin (Hudson, NH) added 18 assists.

Western New England College took out DWC by the scores of 30-18, 30-24, and 30-22. Lorinovich again led the way with 18 kills while sophomore Kim Bezio (Plattsburgh, NY) contributed 12 kills. Cardin dished out 33 assists in another fine performance.

Western New England College (15-14) finished fifth in the conference with a 7-4 mark. The Golden Bears will visit Suffolk in a quarterfinal match of the GNAC Tournament on Tuesday (Nov. 1).
