Golden Bears Fall to Connecticut College, 3-0

Heffer, Holmes lead Western New England with five kills each

NEW LONDON, Conn.. (September 6, 2017) – The Western New England University volleyball team suffered a 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-14) setback at the hands of Connecticut College this evening in non-conference action at Luce Field House.

Top Performers
• Senior outside hitter Sam Heffer (Bethpage, N.Y.) and sophomore middle blocker Cassandra Holmes (Ellington, Conn.) led the Golden Bears offensively with five kills each.
• Sophomore setter Caitlyn Sibiskie (Rockfall, Conn.) handed out 17 assists, while senior libero Brianna Roath (Jackson, N.J.) recorded a team-high 12 digs.

• Senior Sam Hunter (Palos Verdes, Calif.) and junior Jenny Kellogg (Los Altos, Calif.) both registered double-doubles for the Camels, while senior Katia Elisman (Lake Forest, Ill.) tallied 29 assists, five digs and three blocks.

Notes
• Connecticut College hit .323 as a team, while the Golden Bears posted a .019 hitting percentage.
• Sibiskie was just one dig shy of recording a double-double.
