Western New England to Honor Laura Sturgis Boule ‘01/G’02 at 21st Annual Golf Classic
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (August 8, 2019) – Western New England University will recognize former student-athlete Laura Sturgis Boule '01/G'02 as the Guest of Honor at the 21st Annual Golf Classic on Monday, September 23 at Twin Hills Country Club in Longmeadow, Mass.
"We are thrilled to have an opportunity to recognize Laura for all of her contributions to the University and Golden Bear Athletics," Director of Athletics, Recreational Sport & Physical Education Matthew LaBranche said.
"The Western New England Way is about holistic development through sport. There is no one that embodies that more than Laura. Her personal and professional success as well as her commitment to leadership and service make her an ideal role model for our current athletes."
Boule currently serves as the Vice President of Residential Asset and Property Management at Nordblom Company in Burlington, Mass., where she oversees the day-to-day operations of the multi-family portfolio, preparing asset and strategic plans, and participating in the acquisition, disposition, and development of new assets.
She remains active within the Western New England community as a co-chair for the University's Campaign for Our Second Century, and is a member of the College of Business Advisory Board. Boule has been a loyal alumna donor, mentor, and volunteer for nearly two decades.
Boule, the class of 2001 valedictorian, was a standout women's lacrosse student-athlete at Western New England and was a member of the program's inaugural team as a sophomore in 1999. In 2001, she was named to the Verizon Academic All-America College Division First Team and was the New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) Scholar Athlete of the Year. Also in 2001, Boule was the Western New England Female Scholar Athlete of the Year and a recipient of a Western New England University Alumni Association Skookum Award. She served as an assistant coach for the women's lacrosse program in 2002.
A native of Westborough, Mass., Boule earned her undergraduate degree in Management before going on to receive her MBA from Western New England.
