Western New England Places 45 on CCC Fall Academic All-Conference Team

Western New England's Honorees 

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (January 25, 2017) – Western New England University has placed 45 student-athletes on the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Fall Academic All-Conference Team, which was released this morning by the league office.

The CCC's Academic All-Conference Team recognizes student-athletes that have maintained a 3.3 cumulative grade point average and have attained at least sophomore status at their institution. Western New England's 45 qualifiers, good for fifth in the CCC, are among 443 total honorees across the league for the fall semester.

The 2016 CCC champion men's soccer team and CCC runner-up field hockey program led the way for the Golden Bears with ten Academic All-Conference performers each, while the women's soccer and volleyball teams had nine and six selections, respectively. Women's tennis and women's cross country followed with four each, and men's cross country rounded out the list with two.

Among Western New England's 45 honorees are six student-athletes that also earned All-CCC recognition for their athletic achievements, including junior Allison Jackson (Mahopac, N.Y.) and sophomore Emily Antinozzi (Rye, N.Y.) of the field hockey team, senior Kevin Strobel (Rockland, Mass.) of the men's soccer team, senior Jenna Leuck (Dumont, N.J.) of the volleyball team, sophomore Meagan Dias (Ludlow, Mass.) of the women's cross country team, and senior Brooke Labrie (Granby, Mass.) of the women's soccer team.
