Golden Bears Turn In Sixth Place Finish at Smith Invitational

Junior Chris Goymer leads Western New England with 33rd place effort in 30:11.12
NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (September 10, 2016) – The Western New England University men's cross country team turned in a sixth place finish earlier today at the Smith College Invitational.
Western New England posted a score of 167, finishing sixth in the eight-team field. Coast Guard claimed the team title with a score of 40, while Babson sophomore Matthew Dynan crossed the finish line first with a time of 27:41.93.
Top Performers
• Junior Chris Goymer (Pinecrest, Fla.) was the top Golden Bear finisher, as he placed 33rd out of 87 total competitors with a time of 30:11.12.
• Classmate Jonathan Ricciardi (Pattersonville, N.Y.) followed in 39th place and clocked in at 30:31.34 on the eight-kilometer course.
• Senior Eric Murphy (Holliston, Mass.) posted a 47th place finish and earned a time of 31:49.79.

• Sophomore Nico Gallo (Ludlow, Mass.) – 57th overall, 32:49.73
• Senior Connor Ross (Hanson, Mass.) – 60th overall, 33:06.96
