Western New England Finishes 35th at NCAA New England Regional

Junior Adrian Barber paces Golden Bears with 173rd place finish in 27:40.03

WESTFIELD, Mass. (November 12, 2016) – The Western New England University men's cross country team ran to a 35th place finish earlier today at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championship, hosted by Westfield State University at Stanley Park.

Western New England posted a team score of 1067 on its way to 35th place in the 56-team field. MIT won the team title with a score of 110, while NESCAC squads Williams (110), Amherst (141), Middlebury (153) and Tufts (159) rounded out the top five. Tufts senior Tim Nichols was the top individual finisher after completing the eight-kilometer course in 23:54.58.

Top Performers
• Junior Adrian Barber (Castleton, N.Y.) led the way for the Golden Bears, finishing 173rd in the 384-runner field with a time of 27:40.03.
• Junior Chris Goymer (Pinecrest, Fla.) followed in 196th after posting a time of 28:06.34.
• Senior Eric Murphy (Holliston, Mass.) finished 215th overall and clocked in at 28:23.82.
