Western New England Posts 22nd Place Finish at UMass Dartmouth Invitational

Junior Chris Goymer paces Golden Bears with 95th place finish in 27:43.10

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (September 17, 2016) – The Western New England University men's cross country team ran to a 22nd place finish earlier today at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational.

The Golden Bears finished with a team score of 650, good for 22nd among 33 teams competing. American International College took the team title with a score of 52, while Connecticut College (60) and Stonehill (99) finished second and third, respectively. American International junior Mitchell Byrne was the top individual finisher, completing the eight-kilometer course in 24:50.51.

Top Performers
• Junior Chris Goymer (Pinecrest, Fla.) led the way for the Golden Bears, finishing 95th in the 242-runner field with a time of 27:43.10.
• Junior Adrian Barber (Castleton, N.Y.) crossed the finish line 123rd overall and clocked in at 28:16.21.
• Senior Eric Murphy (Holliston, Mass.) earned a time of 28:43.26, good for 137th overall.  

Also Scoring for Western New England
• Sophomore Nico Gallo (Ludlow, Mass.) – 164th overall in 29:27.63.
• Junior Jonathan Ricciardi (Pattersonville, N.Y.) – 172nd overall in 29:37.55.
