Golden Bears Finish Third at Elms Blazer Invitational

Dias, Silveira place 7^th & 12^th, respectively

CHICOPEE, Mass. (September 23, 2017) – The Western New England University women's cross country team ran to a third place finish at the Elms College Blazer Invitational on Saturday at Chicopee Memorial State Park.

Western New England posted a team score of 69 en route to third place in the nine-team field. Salve Regina finished first with a score of 27, while Hampshire College placed second (64).

Top Performers
• Junior Meagan Dias (Ludlow, Mass.) paced the Golden Bears, finishing seventh overall in the 64-runner field with a time of 25:52 on the six-kilometer course.
• Senior Kathleen Silveira (Plainfield, Conn.) registered a 12^th place finish after crossing the finish line at 26:43.
• Freshman Samantha Lewis (Goffstown, N.H.) placed 14^th in 27:01.
