Catuosco Picks Up CCC Specialist of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 24, 2023) – The Western New England men's lacrosse team saw First Year Faceoff Specialist Chris Catuosco earn his second Commonwealth Coast Conference Specialist of the Week award after putting together another brilliant week in the faceoff circle. 

The Commack, New York native won 11 of 17 faceoffs during the weekday win over Salve Regina University. Catuosco scooped six ground balls and took one shot on goal that found the back of the net, scoring his first career goal with WNE. 

In Saturday's defeat to Endicott, Catuosco dominated the faceoff circle, going 17/25, scooping nine ground balls for the Golden Bears while taking one shot. 

On the season, Catuosco has played in all 15 games for WNE, making 11 starts, scoring a goal, and picking up two assists, good for three points. Catuosco has collected a team high 93 ground balls, which also ranks third in the CCC, while going 143/224 in the faceoff circle, a 64% success rate. 

The Western New England men's lacrosse team will play their final home game of the regular season on Wednesday, April 26 at 7:00 PM against the visiting Bison of Nichols College. WNE will then find out their quarterfinal round opponent which will be played from Golden Bear Stadium on Saturday, April 29.
