Dylan Hanley Named USILA Division III Honorable Mention All-American

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (May 24, 2023) – Senior attackman Dylan Hanley has been awarded prestigious honors following the announcement of the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Associations Division III All-American list, seeing Hanley named to the honorable mention team. 

Hanley becomes the 30th player in Western New England men's lacrosse history to accomplish the feat of All-American, while picking up the 48th award in the program's history. 

Hanley put together a historic career for the Golden Bears this season, scoring 52 goals and picking up 70 assists, good for 122 points on the year, which marks the highest number of points in a single season in both Western New England men's lacrosse history and the Commonwealth Coast Conference history. Hanley's 122 points was also good for second in all of NCAA Division III, one point higher than Gavin Admirand from UMass-Boston. Jack Boyden leads the way with 154 points for Tufts University. 

To go along with his single season point total mark, Hanley recorded a single season best in assists with 70. The senior scooped 65 ground balls for WNE, fourth most on the team while taking 140 shots, putting 103 on target, both team highs for the Golden Bears.  

Western New England would finish the season with a 12-9 record, including a 7-1 mark in CCC play and advanced to the NCAA Division III Championships for the second consecutive season before falling to No. 17 Union College. Hanley scored four goals and picked up two assists in the NCAA Tournament game while also collecting two goals and seven assists in the CCC Championship game victory over Endicott. 

Over the last two season, six Golden Bears have garnered All-American status from the USILA, five to the honorable mention team and one third team representative.
