Men's Tennis Tied for Fifth in 2023 CCC Preseason Poll
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (March 2, 2023) - The Western New England men's tennis will look to get back to the CCC Championship for the first time since 2019 with a slate of eight conference games plus a spring break trip this season. The Golden Bears have been locked in, tied for fifth in the conference preseason poll for the 2023 season. WNE finished with a 6-8 record in 2022, including a 3-5 mark in CCC play.
Sophomore Nick Bayer (Bedford, N.H.) will look to build off his strong performance on the court last season, which earned him Second Team All-CCC honors. WNE men's tennis will look to their leadership group as five Golden Bears are set to play in their senior campaigns this season. Michael Robichaud (Auburn, Mass.), and Sebastian Smreczak (Auburn, Mass.) will look to be WNE's top doubles pair, having won six matches together a season ago.
After their spring break trip to Hilton Head, S.C., WNE will open their conference schedule by hosting Salve Regina on Thursday, March 23 at 3:30 p.m.
