Men’s Tennis Rolls over Curry in CCC Opener

MILTON, Mass. (March 26, 2023) – The Western New England men's tennis team took care of business on the road on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Colonels of Curry College by a final score of 9-0 from the Curry College Tennis Courts. 

How it Happened:
Western New England would get off to a brilliant start, defeating Curry 3-0 in doubles action. Michael Robichaud and Thomas Roche would come away 8-2 winners in spot one while Paul Riccio and Tyler Macdowall would do the same from the third spot. In the second spot, Brandon Greger and Kevin Sharpe would come out victorious, defeating Curry in straight fashion, 8-0. 

Singles action would also go the Golden Bears way as all six singles players would take victories. Brandon Greger would lead WNE in spot one with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Nick Bell. Michael Robichaud would continue his excellent play, winning 6-1, 6-1 over Leevi Selanne. From the third spot, Thomas Roche would sweep Killian Rowlee 6-0, 6-0. In the fourth spot, Tyler Macdowall would find himself in a competitive match with James Scali, though came out victorious in the third set, winning 1-6, 6-3, 7-6 (10-7). Paul Riccio took a 6-1, 6-1 victory for WNE in the fifth spot and Kevin Sharpe would wrap up the afternoon with a 6-0, 6-0 win to complete the sweet of Curry for the Golden Bears.
