Men’s Tennis Falls on Home Court, 9-0
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 13, 2023) – The Western New England men's tennis team fell on the Volvo Tennis Courts on Thursday afternoon as the visiting Hawks of Roger Williams University blanked the Golden Bears by a final score of 9-0 to improve to 12-2 on the season.
How it Happened:
Western New England would come up short in doubles action as Michael Robichaud and Thomas Roche would battle in the second doubles position before falling 8-7. Nick Bayer and Brandon Greger would drop an 8-2 match at the top doubles spot as the Hawks took a quick 3-0 lead.
WNE would fall in straight sets in singles action as the Hawks proved to be too much for the blue and gold. Nick Bayer would fall short, falling 6-0, 7-5 while Michael Robichaud would be dropped 6-3, 6-4 to fall to the Hawks in singles action. Western New England would fall 6-0 in singles and 9-0 in the match.
