Harrison Named to D3hoops.com All-Region 2 First Team

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (March 14, 2023) – Western New England men's basketball sophomore forward Jake Harrison has been named to the D3hoops.com First Team All-Region, as announced by the committee today.

Players are nominated for each award by institutional Sports Information Directors and regions are organized into ten different sections. A region with 40 teams or more has three All-Region teams honored, while a region with fewer than 40 teams have a first and second team. This reorganization results in approximately 10 additional players being recognized when compared to previous full seasons. Players from these lists are eligible for the D3hoops.com All-America teams. The men's team will be released March 18, at the national championship game.

Harrison played in 27 games this season for the Golden Bears, leading the teams with 17.1 points per game. Harrison also led WNE in minutes per game (34.4), free throws made (5.0), free throw attempts per game (7.2), offensive rebounds per game (3.4), assists per game (5.9), and steals per game (2.1). WNE finished the season with a 21-7 record, recording their most wins in a season since the 2006-2007 season.

The sophomore adds D3hoops.com First Team All-Region to his resume, which already includes Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Year and First Team All-CCC this season. Harrison is joined on the Region 2 First Team by Octavio Britto (Keene State), Matthew Alectus (Nichols College) Jeff Hunter (Keene State) and Jared Houston (Emerson College). Jalen Echevarria (Endicott College), Kendall Robinson (Western Connecticut State), Maliik Lorquet (UMass-Boston), Toby Harris (Brandeis), John Lowther (WPI), and John Adams (WPI) round out the All-Region Second Team.
