Men’s Golf Opens Fall Season at Bill Detrick Invitational

Golden Bears in 5th place following round one action

NEWINGTON, Conn. (September 7, 2019) – The Western New England University men's golf team opened its fall season on Saturday at the Bill Detrick Invitational, hosted by Trinity College at Indian Hill Country Club.

Following opening round action, the Golden Bears sit in fifth place in the ten-team field with a team score of 312. Babson College is leading the way (288), while Beavers' freshman Jackson Rothwell is pacing the 58-golfer field with a two-under par 70.

Western New England junior Ryan Zogby (New Hartford, N.Y.) is tied for seventh place after carding a one-over par 73 during Saturday's action.

Sophomore Andrew Crean (Victor, N.Y.) is tied for 25th with a score of 79, while juniors Cameron Cox (Bowdoinham, Maine) and Peter Garlick (Somers, Conn.) are tied for 30th after turning in matching 80s.
