Men’s Golf in 10th Place After First Round of Williams Fall Invitational

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. (September 21, 2019) – The Western New England University men's golf team sits in tenth place following the opening round of the Williams College Fall Invitational on Saturday at Taconic Golf Club.

The Golden Bears posted a team score of 308 in round one, placing them 10th in the 25-team field through 18 holes. NYU is in first place after posting a score of 291, followed by Williams (294), Trinity (295), Rochester (298) and RPI (299). Hamilton College's Jack Habeeb is leading the 129-golfer field with a two-under par 69.

Western New England junior Ryan Zogby (New Hartford, N.Y.) paced the Golden Bears with a one-over 72, which has him tied for sixth place.

Junior Cameron Cox (Bowdoinham, Maine) is tied for 42nd place after carding a 77 (+6), while sophomore Andrew Crean (Victor, N.Y.) is one stroke behind Cox with a 78, good for 51st place.

Also competing for the Golden Bears are freshman Ryne Salius (Torrington, Conn.) and junior Kade Howard (Ludlow, Mass.). Salius is tied for 79th with an opening round 81, and Howard's 86 has him tied for 108th.
