Men's Golf Ties for Third Place at Blazer Invitational

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (September 30, 2019) – The Western New England University men's golf team finished in a tie for third place at the Elms College Blazer Invitational following round two action on Monday at Ledges Country Club in South Hadley, Mass.

The Golden Bears posted scores of 308 and 315 over the two-day event, which was played at both Westover Golf Course in Granby and Ledges Country Club in South Hadley. Western New England tied Roger Williams with a two-day total of 623. Westfield State won the team title (597) after posting a score of 292 during round two, while Springfield College finished second with a score of 602. Westfield State's Ryan Koczela and Springfield's Mike Strong tied for medalist honors after recording matching scores of 143 (-1).

Western New England was led by junior Cameron Cox (Bowdoinham, Maine) who finished eighth in the 58-golfer field with a score of 152 (+8).

Junior Ryan Zogby (New Hartford, N.Y.) and sophomore Andrew Crean (Victor, N.Y.) tied for 13th place after turning in 155's, while freshman Ryne Salius (Torrington, Conn.) and senior Nathan Smith Epaul (Hampden, Mass.) placed 24th and 33rd, respectively.
