Men’s Golf Finishes Tied for 10th at Williams Fall Invitational

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. (September 22, 2019) – The Western New England University men's golf team finished in a tie for tenth place at the Williams College Fall Invitational following second round action on Sunday at Taconic Golf Club.

The Golden Bears, who entered the day with sole possession of tenth place after turning in a team score of 308 on Saturday, posted a 309 in round two and finished with a 36-hole total of 617. Western New England tied Johnson & Wales and Tufts. Babson College captured the team title with a two-day total of 588, as the Beavers climbed all the way from sixth place following round one into first at the conclusion of the tournament. Williams (589), Rochester (591), NYU (592) and RPI (594) rounded out the top five. Jack Habeeb of Hamilton College and Sam Goldenring of Williams College shared medalist honors with matching scores of 141.

Western New England was led by junior Ryan Zogby (New Hartford, N.Y.), who finished in a tie for 22nd with a 36-hole total of 150. Zogby followed up his one-over par 72 in round one with a seven-over 78 today.

Sophomore Andrew Crean (Victor, N.Y.) tied for 39th place in the 129-golfer field with a combined total of 154. Crean posted a two-stroke improvement over the two rounds with scores of 78 and 76, respectively.

Junior Cameron Cox (Bowdoinham, Maine) tied for 44th after carding scores of 77 and 78, good for a total of 155 (+13).

Freshman Ryne Salius (Torrington, Conn.) placed 63rd, while junior Kade Howard (Ludlow, Mass.) finished 97th.
