Wrestling Falls at WPI

WORCESTER, Mass. (February 16, 2020) – The Western New England University wrestling team fell at WPI, 44-9, on Sunday afternoon at the Sports and Recreation Center on the campus of WPI.

Western New England won two of the weight classes, 125 and 174.

Junior Nick Arborio (Berlin, Conn.) got things started for the Golden Bears, pinning Christian Chadwick at 2:34, picking up six points for Western New England.

The Engineers responded by taking the next five weight classes. WPI won the 133, 141, 149, 157, and 165 weight classes.

Senior Davey Goodall (Chelmsford, Mass.) picked up the other win for the Golden Bears. Goodall won a 7-6 decision over Brendan Marion.

The Engineers finished it off by grabbing wins in 184, 197, and 285 pound weight classes.

Up Next
Western New England hosts the NEWA Futures tournament on Saturday. The following weekend, the Golden Bears will compete at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships.
