Golden Bears Pick up 130-61 Win Over Rhode Island College

Snider, Tricarico & Biolo win two events each

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (November 16, 2018) – The Western New England University women's swimming team posted a 130-61 dual meet victory over Rhode Island College on Friday evening at Bryant University's Chace Athletic Center.

Western New England won ten of 14 events to earn its second straight victory.

The Golden Bears were led by junior Kayla Snider (Leesburg, Va.) and freshmen Hannah Tricarico (Seymour, Conn.) Gianna Biolo (Watertown, Conn.), who won two events each.

Snider finished first in the 200-yard butterfly (2:31.00) and the 500-freestyle (6:00.62), while Tricarico was victorious in the 50-backstroke (32.91 seconds) and the 200-backstroke (2:28.44). Biolo picked up her wins in the 1000-freestyle with a season-best time of 12:40.93, and the 200-breaststroke (1:58.53).

The final three Golden Bears to capture races were junior Emily Elliott (Cortland, N.Y.) in the 200-freestyle (2:20.40), sophomore Lauren Mangiaratti (Ashland, Mass.) in the 50-breaststroke (36.07 seconds), and sophomore Sarah Bartlett (Branford, Conn.) in the 100-freestyle (1:06.62).
