Golden Bears Celebrate Senior Day with Wins over WestConn & St. Joseph’s (Maine)

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (January 26, 2019) – The Western New England University women's swimming team celebrated senior day for Anna Boucher (Merrimack, N.H.) with wins over Western Connecticut (157-97) and Saint Joseph's (Maine) (155-90) on Saturday at the Alumni Healthful Living Center Pool.

The Golden Bears won nine races during the tri-meet, three of which came courtesy of junior Kayla Snider (Leesburg, Va.). Snider captured the 100-yard butterfly (1:06.59), the 100-yard backstroke (1:06.67) and the 100-yard IM (1:08.30).

Freshman Hannah Tricarico (Seymour, Conn.) followed up her two wins from last night's victory over the University of St. Joseph (Conn.) with two more tonight. Tricarico finished first in the 50-yard backstroke (31.34 seconds) and the 100-yard freestyle (1:00.75).

Three other Golden Bears swam to event wins on Saturday – junior Emily Elliott (Cortland, N.Y.) in the 400-yard IM (5:26.85), sophomore Lauren Mangiaratti (Ashland, Mass.) in the 50-yard breaststroke (35.24 seconds) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:52.33) and freshman Gianna Biolo (Watertown, Conn.) in the 500-yard freestyle (6:02.13).
