Elliott Leads Women’s Swimming with Second Place Finish at Blue Jay Pentathlon Invitational

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Senior Emily Elliott (Cortland, N.Y.) placed second to lead the Western New England University women's swimming team at the Blue Jay Pentathlon Invitational, hosted by the University of Saint Joseph, on Friday night at Bruyette Natatorium.

Elliott turned in a total time of 5:48.95 over the five events (breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly, freestyle, individual medley) on her way to second place among 26 swimmers.

Sophomore Hannah Tricarico (Seymour, Conn.) placed seventh (6:00.51), junior Sarah Bartlett (Branford, Conn.) finished tenth (6:23.09), freshman Renee Lussier (Northampton, Mass.) was 12th (6:25.82) and sophomore Gianna Biolo (Watertown, Conn.) checked in at No. 14 (6:31.54).

Elliott's top performances came in the 100-breaststroke (1:14.03) and the 100-IM (1:07.56), where she posted the fastest times among all 26 swimmers who completed all five events.
