Women’s Swimming Hosts Mount Holyoke College

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (February 1, 2020) – The Western New England University women's swimming team hosted Mount Holyoke College on Saturday afternoon at the Alumni Healthful Living Center. Mount Holyoke won the meet, 172-88.

Senior Emily Elliott (Cortland, N.Y.) and sophomore Hannah Tricarico (Seymour, Conn.) tied for high points for Western New England.

Elliott grabbed a win in the 100-yard breaststroke, while Tricarico grabbed first in the 200-yard freestyle.

There were several personal or seasonal bests for the Golden Bears.

Junior Hannah Manolis (West Hartford, Conn.) set bests in the 50-yard and 100-yard backstroke races, while also taking first in the 50-yard backstroke. Sophomore Becca Friedman (Farmington, Conn.) set bests in the 50-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, and 100-yard individual medley.

Freshman Nina Cushinsky (Marblehead, Mass.) set bests in the 50-yard backstroke and 100-yard freestyle, while sophomore Avery Hill (North Haven, Conn.) and sophomore Gianna Biolo (Watertown, Conn.) secured bests in the 50-yard breaststroke and 500-yard freestyle, respectively.
