Women’s Swimming Competes at Smith Relays

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – The Western New England University women's swimming team was back in action on Saturday at the Smith College Relays, held at Dalton Pool.

Western New England's top performance came in the 3x100 butterfly relay, as senior Emily Elliott (Cortland, N.Y.), sophomore Hannah Tricarico (Seymour, Conn.) and junior Sarah Bartlett (Branford, Conn.) placed second with a combined time of 3:38.08.

The Golden Bears turned in a third place showing in the 800-freestyle relay, as sophomores Gianna Biolo (Watertown, Conn.) and Rebecca Friedman (Farmington, Conn.), junior Julianna Foley (Wilbraham, Mass.), and freshman Renee Lussier (Northampton, Mass.) clocked in at 10:14.57.

In the 200-medley relay, Tricarico teamed up with Elliott, Bartlett and sophomore Kimberly Shekosky (Middletown, Conn.) to post a time of 2:12.64, good for fourth place.

Western New England will be back in action on Saturday, November 9, when the Golden Bears host Gordon College in their first home meet of the season at the AHLC Pool.
