Softball’s DiBlasio Picks Up CCC Player of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 3, 2023) – After cracking two home runs and five total hits in a doubleheader sweep of Gordon College, graduate student Dina DiBlasio has been named CCC Softball Player of the Week. 

DiBlasio launched a solo home run in the conference opener for the Golden Bears on Sunday, April 2, grabbing an RBI to pace Western New England past the Fighting Scots to pick up their first CCC victory of the season. DiBlasio finished the weekend with four hits in four at bats which included her second home run of the season while producing four RBIs for the Golden Bears in a 10-2 win. On the season, the Norwalk, Connecticut native has collected an astounding .491 batting average, collecting two home runs and 13 RBIs. 

Over her career with the Golden  Bears, DiBlasio has played in 123 games, stepping to the plate 4-8 times. DiBlasio has scored 83 runs, ripped 167 hits, grabbed 35 doubles, two triples, 19 home runs, and 107 career RBIs.

The Western New England softball team will play six games this week, beginning on Tuesday, April 4 at 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM on the road at Springfield College. WNE will then host Endicott College on Friday, April 7 at 2:30 and 4:30 PM for CCC play before hitting the road for their first conference road games of the season, visiting Nichols College on Saturday, April 8 at 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM.
