SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (January 30, 2017) – Senior forward Emily Anderson (Rocky Hill, Conn.) of the Western New England University women's basketball team has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Week, the league office announced today.

Anderson earns this honor from the CCC for the second time this season after averaging 24.0 points per game on 45% shooting (14-of-31) from the field, 41% (7-of-17) from beyond the arc, and 100% (13-of-13) from the free throw line in a 1-1 week for the Golden Bears. The senior forward also grabbed 7.0 rebounds per game as Western New England defeated Salve Regina, 72-61, on Wednesday before falling to the University of New England, 81-62, on Saturday.

In Tuesday's victory over the Seahawks, Anderson recorded 21 points to go with nine boards. She followed that up on Saturday by shooting 7-of-14 from the field, 4-of-8 from beyond the arc, and a perfect 9-of-9 from the charity stripe on her way to a 27-point performance.

Through 18 games this season, Anderson leads the CCC in scoring average (17.2 PPG) and ranks second in the conference in three-point shooting percentage (.404). She currently sits just 97 points shy of 1000 for her Western New England career with seven games remaining in the regular season.

Western New England (13-5, 9-3 CCC) will be on the road at Nichols tomorrow night before returning home on Thursday to host Eastern Connecticut State in non-conference action.
