Volleyball Announces 2021 Schedule
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (August 10, 2021) – The Women's Volleyball team is excited to announce their 2021 schedule.
"We are all looking forward to coming together on the court to play the sport we love," said head coach Samantha Shomo. "Our student-athletes have been training diligently throughout the spring and summer and I look forward to seeing their hard work pay off."
The Golden Bears will open the season hosting Elms College on September 1 before heading to Norwich University for the Vermont Volleyball Classic. On September 3, day one of the tournament, the Golden Bears will face Castleton University and the hosts Norwich before challenging Northern Vermont-Johnson and Northern Vermont-Lyndon on September 4. The team then returns to Springfield to host Framingham State on September 9 and then both Amherst and Emerson on September 11 in a tri-match.
The Golden Bears then hit the road to Westfield State on September 15 before traveling to Wheaton College for a tri-match with Wheaton and Smith on September 18. The team begins Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play on September 21 when they host Gordon before hosting non-conference rival Worcester State on September 23. The Golden Bears travel to Wentworth on September 25 to continue conference play before ending the month of September hosting conference foe Salve Regina on September 29.
For homecoming weekend, the Golden Bears host Eastern Nazarene on October 2. The team then travels to conference rival University of New England on October 5 before heading to Mount Holyoke on October 8. The Golden Bears return home on October 13 to challenge Suffolk in a conference match before hosting two non-conference matches. The Golden Bears play Eastern Connecticut State on October 16 and Clark University on October 16 before hitting the road to Curry College on October 19 to continue conference play.
The Golden Bears challenge Keene State on October 21 in a non-conference match and then continue conference play at Roger Williams on October 23. The team ends the regular season hosting two conference rivals. The Golden Bears will face Nichols on October 27 and Endicott on October 30.
