Western New England Places 25th at UMass Dartmouth Invitational
Sophomore Meagan Dias leads the way again, finishing 74th overall in 19:54.25
DARTMOUTH, Mass. (September 17, 2016) – The Western New England University women's cross country team ran to a 25th place finish earlier today at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational.
The Golden Bears finished with a team score of 603, good for 25th among 37 teams competing. Brandeis took the team title with a score of 99, while Stonehill (111) and Trinity (137) finished second and third, respectively. American International College's Pascaline Jerotich was the top individual finisher, completing the five-kilometer course in 17:41.79.
Top Performers
• For the third time this season, sophomore Meagan Dias (Ludlow, Mass.) was the first Golden Bear to cross the finish line. She turned in a time of 19:54.25, good for 74th overall in the 275-runner field.
• Senior Amy Grindle (Feeding Hills, Mass.) finished 99th and clocked in at 20:21.83.
• Freshman Brooke Townsend (Portland, Conn.) followed in 123rd place and earned a time of 20:46.56.

• Junior Kathleen Silveira (Plainfield, Conn.) – 129th overall in 20:53.57.
• Senior Rachel Duda (Clinton, Conn.) – 195th overall in 22:37.39.
