David Kalmer Earns CCC Player of the Week Honors

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 1, 2019) – Junior David Kalmer (Slingerlands, N.Y.) of the Western New England University men's tennis team has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

Kalmer played a key role in Western New England's 7-2 road victory over Roger Williams on Saturday, the Golden Bears' first win over the Hawks since 2008. Kalmer teamed up with senior Justin Kohut (South Windsor, Conn.) for an 8-3 win over Dan Tocco and Brendan White at No. 1 doubles. Kalmer was also victorious in singles play, with a 6-1, 6-3 result over White in the No. 1 matchup.

Western New England (4-2, 1-0 CCC) hosts Nichols on Tuesday afternoon in the Golden Bears' home opener at 3:30 p.m.
