Hippolyte Bonnet Collects Second Consecutive CCC Rookie of the Week Honor
Lille, France native picked up wins at No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles against Wentworth
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 22, 2019) – Junior Hippolyte Bonnet (Lille, France) of the Western New England University men's tennis team has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week, the league office announced on Monday.
Bonnet helped the Golden Bears earn a 9-0 victory over Wentworth on Wednesday, as Western New England extended its winning streak to a season-high five matches.
Bonnet teamed up with junior Luke Surawski (Wethersfield, Conn.) for an 8-0 win over Wentworth's duo of Jarrett North and Mun Chet at No. 2 doubles, before registering a 6-1, 6-0 triumph over North at No. 2 singles.
In his first collegiate season, Bonnet has a 7-4 record at No. 2 singles and an 8-3 mark at No. 2 doubles.
Western New England (9-3, 5-1 CCC) wraps up its regular season slate on the road at Salve Regina on Wednesday afternoon.
