Women’s Lacrosse Honors Seniors, Downs Gordon 21-4
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 15, 2023) – The Western New England women's lacrosse team honored their four seniors and four graduate students prior to the start of the contest, a game in which they took down the Fighting Scots by a final score of 21-4.

- Gordon College: 7-6, 2-3 CCC
How it Happened:
It would be a goal feast for Western New England as the Golden Bears would open the first quarter with the first and only nine goal of the quarter, quickly burying the Fighting Scots. Kylie Buchanan, Madisyn Crotta, Hannah Jarvis, Samantha Vitka, Anabella Arias, and Mia Celentano would get in on the goal scoring in the opening frame for the Golden Bears, as Western New England would quickly open up a 9-0 lead.
Gordon College would open the second quarter with a goal just 23 seconds in the quarter before WNE would score the next four goals of the game when Kylie Buchanan (2), Julia Weinet, and Mia Celentano would all find the back of the net for the blue and gold before Gordon would close out the second quarter with a goal as Western New England took a 13-2 lead after the first 30 minutes of play.
The goal scoring for the Golden Bears would continue to ramp up in the third quarter after the first five of six goals would belong to the blue and gold. Ally Ferraro (2), Kylie Buchanan (2), Mia Celentano, and Hannah Jarvis would all contribute for WNE.
In the fourth, Western New England would close the game with a career milestone as Kylie Buchanan would shelf her sixth goal of the game, giving WNE a 20-3 lead, a goal that sent Buchanan to 100 career points with Western New England. WNE would finish the game with a 21-4 win over the Fighting Scots.
Inside the Lines:
- WNE would be led by Kylie Buchanan, who scored six goals, and Ally Ferraro, who found the back of the net twice and collected four assists.
- Senior Emily Lake played the full 60 minutes for the Golden Bears in between the pipes, making two saves.
- WNE scooped 14 ground balls and won 20 of 28 draw controls. The Golden Bears took 37 shots to Gordon's nine.
