Men’s Wrestling Opens 2022-23 Season at Ithaca Invitational
ITHACA, N.Y. (November 5, 2022) – The Western New England men's wrestling team opened their 2022-2023 campaign over the weekend at the Ithaca Invitational, finishing in 8th place of 12 teams in the event.
Highlights:
- Western New England earned 48.5 points in the two-day event, finishing in eighth place.
- CJ Glaropoulos finished the 174 lb. weight class in 5th place after taking a win over Desmond McLaughlin of Castleton University.
- In the 197 lb. weight class, Western New England's Darby McLaughlin would take sixth place in the event.
- Debut were made for multiple Golden Bears, which included Dan McLaughlin and Clayton O'Connor in the 125 lb. weight class.
- Griffin Ostrom earned 6.5 points for WNE in the 184. lb weight class while Devin Flagg, who made his WNE debut, collected six points.
- Tristan Julian (165 lb.), Peter Charnley (157 lb.), Louis Stable (149 lb.), Austin Monteiro (133 lb.), and Max Farley (141 lb.) all earned points for WNE in their respective weight classes.

Western New England travels to Springfield College for the annual City of Springfield Championships, which includes WNE, Springfield College, American International College, and Springfield Technical Community College. That event will take place on Saturday, November 12 at 10:00 am.
