Jarvis Named CCC Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (March 6, 2023) – Western New England women's lacrosse graduate attack Hannah Jarvis has earned CCC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week after leading Western New England to an even 1-1 split on the week, which included a home opener victory over Smith College. 

Jarvis picked up five goals and five points in the season opening loss at Westfield State, leading the Golden Bears in points in the game. Jarvis scooped one ground ball and won one draw control while also causing two turnovers in the setback. Jarvis ripped a career high 12 shots in the game, placing nine on goal. 

Jarvis and the Golden Bears responded less than 24 hours later, playing their home opener against Smith College, grabbing an 11-7 win over the Pioneers. The graduate student scored three times for Western New England while also picking up her first two assists of the season, collecting an additional five points in the game. Jarvis collected her first free-position goal of the season while also scooping three grounds balls, containing four draw controls, and causing one turnover, while taking six shots, five on goal in the win. Jarvishas eight goals and two assists on the season, good for a team leading ten points. The Westfield, Massachusetts native has grabbed four ground balls, five draw controls on the season while causing three turnovers and taking 18 shots, 14 on goal. 

WNE will play at Keene State College in a makeup game from February 28 on Tuesday, March 7 at 4:00 pm. WNE women's lacrosse will then be home to take on Husson University on Thursday, March 9 at 4:00 PM before setting out to Florida for Spring Break.
