Buchanan Named CCC Offensive Player of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 10, 2023) – The Commonwealth Coast Conference has named Western New England senior forward Kylie Buchanan (Westfield, Mass.) as the Offensive Player of the Week after erupting for 11 goals and three assists during a perfect 3-0 week. 

Buchanan helped Western New England earn two conference wins this week, picking up a 21-5 win over Curry College and 16-2 win over Wentworth Institute. Buchanan picked up an assist and three shots against Curry College while exploding for five goals and an assist against Wentworth Institute, helping the Golden Bears to victory. 

The senior would also pick up a season best seven-point outing, six goals and an assist against Springfield College in a 16-9 win. Buchanan collected eight total shots, seven on goal in the win for WNE. On the week, Buchanan put up 14 points, while tossing 20 shots on goal, putting 14 on net. 

On the season, the Westfield, Massachusetts native has scored 32 goals, two short of her career best, while putting up six assist, grabbing 38 total points on the season, one point shy of her career best. WNE will be back in action on Tuesday, April 11 at 4:00 PM when they host their final non-conference game of the season at Golden Bear Stadium when Eastern Connecticut State University visits Springfield.
